Led by William Drummond, 4th Viscount Strathallan, the Perthshire Horse was the Jacobite Army's first cavalry unit. Consisting of just 36 gentlemen and their servants, the regiment's main role was to scout ahead of the army as it advanced into the Lowlands and cover their movements.
